Small BIZ Protection Proposed Rules and Regulations Subscription

The Louisiana Small Business Protection Act requires the Secretary of State to post information about proposed rules and regulations that may affect small businesses on the department’s website and to notify interested parties when posted.

About

State law requires agencies, departments, and boards to go through a rulemaking process to implement new regulations governing a variety of industries and occupations throughout Louisiana. The rulemaking actions are published in the Louisiana Register, the monthly publication that provides access to regulations, in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act. A variety of state agencies, departments, and licensing boards must go through this process when promulgating rules.

In compliance with the Small Business Protection Act, Act 204 of the 2019 Regular Louisiana Legislative Session, the Secretary of State posts information regarding proposed rules and regulations that may affect small businesses on the department’s website and notifies those interested in receiving a notification of the posting. The information identifies the proposed rules/regulations and details related to the public hearing(s), if applicable, that provide an opportunity for public comment about the proposed rule or regulation.

For those business owners and other stakeholders interested in subscribing to receive the information related to the proposed rules or regulations through email, please subscribe at the following link:
