StayLocal is Greater New Orleans’ independent business alliance. We create an environment for local businesses to thrive through research, education, and advocacy. 

 

StayLocal is a metro-wide initiative for creating a strong economy based on locally owned and operated businesses. StayLocal provides resources to keep local businesses competitive by offering networking, educational, and marketing opportunities. Established in 2004, we support businesses in Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard and St. Tammany parishes.

We educate consumers on the benefits of keeping their dollars local, including conducting our own research on the positive economic impact of choosing local, and we actively promote local businesses, service providers and brands. We strengthen our network by connecting consumers to local businesses, and local businesses to one another.

Our online directory of certified locally owned businesses is a free platform where local businesses promote themselves at staylocal.org/find. To reduce the impact of flooding, we connect homeowners opting to install green infrastructure to green sector professionals via Green Sector Directory online at staylocal.org/greensector. And to bring awareness to businesses achieving sustainability, we cast “Sustainable Spotlights” on local green businesses.

StayLocal is an initiative of the nonprofit Urban Conservancy.
